     La Mafia

Four-time Grammy Award winning artist, La Mafia, headlines

this sizzling night of entertainment.

La Mafia is one of the most influential Latin artists to ever

come out of Texas . Starting their career in Houston Texas

in 1980 with Oscar de la Rosa on vocalsand Armando

Lichtenberger jr as music producer and keyboardist. By 1982

la mafia exploded into the  music scene winning most promising

band of the year at that years Tejano music awards in San Antonio.

La mafia introduced a high energy show with pyrotechnics,  lavish costumes ,

theatrics and concert style  sound & lighting only seen at rock concerts.

ALSO FEATURING:

Since her earliest days as a performer, Elida Reyna has

always known that in order to have an enduring career,

her musical evolution must never end. And that is why she

is undeniably the leading female force of her generation in

the Tex-Mex industry. Possessing an ability to completely

captivate audiences with her stage presence, Reyna is an

artist fiercely proud of her Mexican-American roots, but also

capable of crossing artistic borders by fusing that cultural

sound with universal music elements. For more information click here

Special Guest

Ilyssa Saenz, known simply as “Ilyssa” and formerly, Escandalo

TV’s “La Doble De Selena,” was born August 1, 1990. She is an

American singer and Tejano recording artist born in Laredo, Texas,

and residing in Hebbronville, a tiny community in south Texas.

La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest

You won’t want to miss the granddaddy event of them all --

the La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest!   The celebrated

contest’s fame, which spread throughout the country thanks,

in part, to a program aired by the Food Network which featured

the competition, continues to climb with brave souls clamoring

to beat the heat for cash prizes.   The current record for the

most Jalapeños eaten during the contests was set by professional

eater Patrick “Deep Dish” Bertoletti with at a very hot (and painful)

266 jalapeños in 15 minutes!!! For us non-professionals, the local

record was set in 1992 by Braulio Ramirez with a whopping 141

jalapeños in 15 minutes. You have to see it to believe it!
